Measurement & Reporting
Overview
MNSHINE partners with organizations across Minnesota to turn health care data into meaningful information that supports better care, healthier communities, and informed decisions. Guided by the expertise and perspectives of health care professionals, policymakers, researchers, and community members, we measure and report on health care quality, cost, and utilization to drive improvement and advance health equity.
We bring together data from health care providers and payers, applying standardized measures and data validation processes to produce trustworthy, comparable results. These results help organizations assess performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and track progress over time.
Through our Performance Hub and community reports, we highlight statewide trends, variation in care, and differences in outcomes across populations. Examining results by race, ethnicity, preferred language, country of origin, geography, and insurance type helps make disparities visible and guides focused improvement efforts. Participating organizations also receive detailed reports to support their work.
By making health care performance more transparent and actionable, MNSHINE helps providers, payers, purchasers, policymakers, and community partners establish shared priorities and work toward high-quality, equitable, and affordable care for all Minnesotans.
Our Performance Hub provides comprehensive analyses of health care quality and cost measures through an interactive platform. These insights are brought to life through our dynamic Performance Reports, delivering a detailed view of healthcare outcomes and disparities.
The Measurement and Reporting Committee (MARC) recommends measurement priorities, specifications, guiding principles and policies for public reporting of measurement data.
Our community reports provide valuable insights into quality measurement data trends across Minnesota.
