About Us

Overview

Minnesota Statewide Health Information Network and Exchange (MNSHINE) helps health care and community decision makers use trusted data to improve health. Formerly MN Community Measurement, MNSHINE now brings together statewide quality measurement and reporting with the health information exchange (HIE) business acquired from Koble. Through our Measurement & Reporting, Health Information Exchange, and Collaborative Solutions work, we help partners across health care, public health, and communities connect information, reduce fragmentation, and turn data into coordinated action.

Our mission is to empower decision makers with trusted data, shared infrastructure, and collaborative solutions that advance quality, equity, value, and improved health outcomes. We approach that work as partners, with transparent governance and responsible data stewardship at the center. As we build toward a broader health data utility for Minnesota, we will keep working alongside participating organizations to set priorities together and develop practical solutions that serve the public good.

MNSHINE is governed by a Board of Directors that brings together health plans, health care providers, employers, consumers, academic and research experts, and state government. Their range of perspectives keeps our work grounded in shared priorities and responsible stewardship of data for the people of Minnesota.

Each year, we share an annual report to the community highlighting our work, partnerships, and progress toward better health in Minnesota. Reports from prior years were published under our former name, MN Community Measurement, and remain available here as a record of the work that laid the foundation for MNSHINE.

Our staff bring together experience in quality measurement, health information exchange, data analytics, and partnership-building. Every day, they work alongside health care, public health, and community partners to make trusted data easier to use for better health across Minnesota.
